CITIKOL VIALS

Composition

One 10 ml Citikol vial contains 500 mg of citicoline as a sodium salt.

Pharmaceutical form

Vials for direct oral use.

Action and use

Vision quality mostly depends on the proper functioning of the nerve cell structures associated with visual function. Therefore, it is especially important for the body to have a neuroprotective system that maintains the physiological levels of membrane phospholipids to ensure the integrity of the nerve cell membrane.

Citicoline is a molecule that is present in the body. It is also a precursor to the phospholipids contained in the cell membrane, including the cell membrane of the optic nerve. Nerve cells use the citicoline to synthesize acetylcholine, which is useful for conducting visual signals. The citicoline contained in Citikol vials is a source of choline, a precursor to acetylcholine. Choline contributes to the normal metabolism of homocysteine, which may be affected in the case of some ophthalmic neurodegenerative diseases.
