ALKALOID RECEIVES JUBILEE PLAQUE FROM THE RED CROSS

To commemorate the Red Cross's 80th anniversary, a ceremonial event was held at the Macedonian National Theater under the patronage of the country's President, H.E. Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.

Celebrating under the motto “For Eight Decades, We See People,” the anniversary highlighted the Red Cross’s eight-decade commitment to aiding and supporting the most vulnerable categories of citizens and promoting humanity and solidarity.

Founded on March 17, 1945, the Macedonian Red Cross postponed its anniversary celebration this year due to the tragedy in Kochani, which demanded the organization’s full mobilization to aid those affected. In recognition of Alkaloid's support for the tragedy victims and the company's contributions to the Red Cross’s humanitarian efforts, the company's CEO and MB President, Mr. Zhivko Mukaetov, was presented with a jubilee plaque by Dr. Liljana Ristevska, Vice President of the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia.

In recent years, Alkaloid has partnered with both the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Red Cross of the City of Skopje on various social and humanitarian initiatives, including blood donation campaigns. The company’s Blood Donors’ Association, active for over 50 years, received special recognition in 2024 for its outstanding participation in blood drives organized by the Red Cross and the Institute of Transfusion Medicine. Alkaloid has also consistently carried out clothing and food donation drives and has supported Red Cross appeals to aid the homeless, refugees, and migrants —categories in need of the most urgent humanitarian assistance. In 2015, during an organized charitable picnic, Alkaloid employees raised over 750,000 denars for the Red Cross Solidarity Fund. Most recently, the company donated 15 million denars to the same fund to support the victims of the Kochani tragedy and their families.

At the jubilee ceremony, the Red Cross presented four gold medals and formally announced a €20,000 donation to the University Clinic for Traumatology at the Mother Teresa Clinical Center in Skopje. As the event organizers emphasized, the Red Cross's 80th anniversary represents a moment of gratitude, remembrance, and recognition for all volunteers, members, employees, and partners who have left — and continue to leave — their mark through humanitarian service.
