Action

Pyridoxine hydrochloride is a hydrosoluble vitamin with its active form as pyridoxal phosphate, indispensable for protein metabolism. It takes part in the amino-acid metabolic processes (decarboxilation, dezamination, transamination etc). It plays an important role in the metabolism of fats, formation of HEM and niacin from tryptophan.

Indications

Treatment and prevention of vitamin B6 deficiency conditions: microcyte and hypochrome anemia, convulsions in infants, polyneuritis and neuropathy under treatment with drugs containing isonyaside, penicilamine, hydralaziyne and cycloserine;

Lowered vitamin B6 concentrations are common during diets, uremia, alcoholism, chirrhosis, hyperparathyreoidism, malabsorption syndrome, in coronary insufficiency patients, prolonged dialysis, as well as genetic amino-acid metabolism disorders;

Increased demand for intake of vitamin B6 is common in geriatric patients, during pregnancy and lactation as well as prolonged use of hormonal contraception;

Other indications: acnae, seborrheic dermatitis, hyperlipidemia, radiation, hypermesis gravidarum, PMS, vertigo, hyperkinetic syndrome in children, hyperoxaluria, pyridoxine dependence in children.
