The commitment to continuous growth and development, following the trends and the latest achievements in the field of pharmacy are the main reasons why in the past two decades "Alkaloid" AD Skopje has remained on the course of continuous investment, investing over 200 million euros. In that direction are the investments in the new production facilities, made in accordance with the strict requirements for Good Production Practice (GMP). Three and a half million euros of the investment were earmarked for complete technical preparation of the Department for packaging of solid forms, with an area of 2 000 m2; 5.2 million euros were used for technical-technological equipment and 2.3 million euros cost the construction of two new floors earmarked for the production of solid pharmaceutical forms and an accompanying space for technical-technological equipment, with a total area of 5 000 m2. The purpose of this investment and future investments in this department are aimed at increasing the production capacity of solid pharmaceutical forms by 50%.

Due to the specificity of the processes and due to the pandemic, the handover of the new facilities was ceremoniously conducted by Ms. Milkica Gligorova, Director of the Production Section of PC Pharmacy and Mr. Zhivko Mukaetov, CEO / President of the Management Board of the company, in the presence of members of the senior management of "Alkaloid" AD Skopje.

"Eight months after the start of this capital investment, the pandemic has paralyzed the world. We worked in extraordinary conditions without interfering with the ongoing production processes. Despite all the objective and subjective challenges in the past period, we are especially proud that on the threshold of the year of our 85th anniversary, we are launching another completed investment project. We will follow the same course in the future - with new investments in research, development, new technologies, knowledge,  staff and conquering new markets. "Alkaloid" as a Macedonian company, will continue gracefully to be side by side and competitive with the world's major pharmaceutical systems, both in knowledge and capacity. "We paved that road ourselves and we will stay on that road because we believe in ourselves!" said Mr. Zhivko Mukaetov.

This investment is in line with the company's policy of investing in capital projects and given the tripling of the consolidated sales revenues over the past 15 years, this venture was necessary to ensure even more intensive placements and continued growth. The completion of this investment created conditions for the realization of more than 200 new jobs in the company.
