Delegation from the Romanian Embassy Visits ALKALOID
A delegation from the Romanian Embassy in Skopje, headed by H.E. Ambassador Adela Monica Axinte, paid a working visit to ALKALOID AD Skopje.
In his opening speech as part of the official meeting, the CEO and President of the Management Board, Mr. Zhivko Mukaetov, introduced the company, its primary operations, manufacturing facilities, and product range. He emphasized the company's performance, continuous investments, as well as its numerous social responsibility initiatives.
During the meeting, while underscoring the company's central strategic commitment of expanding the ALKALOID brand on a global scale, a notable emphasis was placed on the importance of export placements and the maintenance of a stable market position.
With a focus on exports to the European Union, where the company sells 21% of its products, Mr. Mukaetov stressed the strategic importance of the Romanian market. He pointed out that ALKALOID established its own company in Bucharest in 2022 after several years of presence, recognizing Romania as one of the company's fastest-growing markets.
As for the results achieved in the Romanian market, the consolidated sales exceeding 8.5 million euros in the first three quarters of 2023 demonstrate a significant growth of 63% compared to the same period in the previous year. The company offers a variety of pharmaceutical and hemodialysis products.
Alkaloid's leading product on the Romanian market is the cephalosporin antibiotic Pancef (Cefixime), which in Romania is marketed under the trade name Xifia ranking among its top 5 best-selling antibiotic brands. ALKALOID has established enduring and successful strategic collaborations with Romanian companies, including Terapia S.A. (part of Indian Sun Pharma) and MagnaPharm.
During their tour to the manufacturing facilities of the pharmaceutical segment at Alkaloid's Research and Development Institute, the delegation, led by Ambassador Axinte, had the opportunity to observe the remarkable expertise and preparedness of the staff responsible for process management, along with the modern working conditions and cutting-edge equipment in place.
