Delegation of the United States Embassy in Skopje, headed by Mr. Eric Meyer, Deputy Chief of Mission, visited “Alkaloid” AD Skopje.

During the working visit, the career Foreign Service Officer was presented with the results of the company operations, its product placements and production processes. Also presented were the company’s numerous investment ventures, its export operations and the corporate social responsibility activities as one of the key commitments in the company’s policy.

Emphasis was put on Alkaloid’s long standing tradition of cooperation with companies from the United States of America where “Alkaloid” opened its subsidiary in New Albany, Ohio back in 2005. This venture was preceded by successful business and technical cooperation with renowned US companies, such as “Pfizer” and “MSD” (Merck Sharp & Dohme) that can be traced back over 5 decades ago. Presently, “Alkaloid” is a partner of choice to several reputable American pharmaceutical companies with which it has established various forms of cooperation, such as licensing, marketing representation and authorization for distribution of their products.

In terms of the business endeavors in the US market, “Alkaloid” is particularly proud of the placement of its “Good Nature” brand of teas. In the last 17 years, the company has established successful partnership with American companies specialized in the production and distribution of teas and herbal remedies, such as the renowned “AVEDA” (member of the “Estee Lauder Group”), “Arbonne International” and “Swanson”. Alkaloid’s teas are placed at the US market under their own brand, sold in large supermarket chains and also available on the “Amazon” platform.

Mr. Meyer expressed his satisfaction regarding the success of “Alkaloid” and was particularly fascinated by the tour of the company’s production facilities, as well as the high level of technological equipment and the skilled personnel in charge of managing the processes. Eric Meyer is a career diplomat, who took over the post of Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the United States in Skopje in August 2021, and this visit was part of his agenda for encountering with Macedonian companies.
