In the course of 2019 and 2020, "Alkaloid AD Skopje" made a donation to the "General Hospital with extended activity - Kavadarci" in total amount of around 10.5 million MK denars (170,000 Euros), completely furnishing the "Internal department for women's diseases" of this public health institution.

The area of over 350m2, which stood unfinished for nearly three decades, today officially and formally was put in use, by strictly respecting all health protocols and protective measures by the Minister of Health , Prof. Dr. Venko Filipce, General Director and Chairman of the Management Board of "Alkaloid " Mr. Zhivko Mukaetov and the director of the hospital, Dr. Dime Kocev.

The new department is conceived and constructed in accordance with all modern standards and regulations for health facilities and is comprised of one part for patient’s stay (hospital rooms with toilets), a part for intensive care unit and a part for the medical staff. The entire area, except for new installations, received proper hospital equipment (modern hospital beds, hospital furniture, equipment, TVs in all hospital rooms and installation of internet connection in the whole department).

The Director of PHI "General Hospital with extended activity - Kavadarci" Dr. Dime Kocev expressed his gratitude for the donation and speaking in his personal name and on the behalf of all people of Kavadarci, noted: "In the Department, which has been constructed by using the latest building materials and equipped with modern medical and technical interior, we will provide a wonderful ambience for accommodation of our patients and their better hospital treatment.”

The Director General of "Alkaloid", Mr. Zivko Mukaetov said that this donation of the company was conducted under the auspices of the "Trajce Mukaetov" Foundation, established in honor of the founder of modern "Alkaloid", who started his life path exactly from Kavadarci. "Although the occasion for today's visit is the opening of only one section of the hospital, which is an exceptional example of the functioning of public health, we as a company will continue with our support here, in Kavadarci" - said Mukaetov.

At today's official handover of the equipped "Department of women’s diseases" in Kavadarci, the hosts had the honor of the presence of the Minister for Health, Prof. Dr. Venko Filipce who said: "The new department of internal medicine is a modern department in accordance with all European standards and it is a pleasant place for the patients and for the medical staff as well. This is not the first time that the company “Alkaloid” provides help. "Alkaloid" is the first company that helped the Ministry of Health during the Covid crisis; a company which for many years provides scholarships for students from the medical science field and with today’s act, they once again prove what it means to be a socially responsible company and a company that cares for traditional family values."

In the recent visit of "General Hospital Kavadarci", as well as today, the Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Venko Filipce noted that this institution is an example of responsibility at workplace. As a result of this responsibility, the major benefits are a constant modernization of capacities, improved infrastructure, increased number of medical specialists, as well as a fully equipped department for treatment of patients suffering from Covid-19, if needed. This hospital, known for years for its high-quality health services, serves nearly 100,000 citizens of Povardarie region (Kavadarci, Negotino, Rosoman and Demir Kapija) and has a high level of expertise in more medical specialty areas.
