The Foundation "Trajche Mukaetov" awards 39 new scholarships

In accordance with the tradition, this year the Foundation "Trajche Mukaetov" awards 39 new scholarships, 18 for students of the Pharmaceutical Faculty and 21 for students of the Medical Faculty at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, for the academic year 2017/2018.

In line with the announced public competition, the selection of scholarship holders for the academic year 2017/2018 was adopted by the Board of Directors of the Foundation, following the proposed preliminary list of the Scholarship Commissions. The Commissions are composed of representatives from the Foundation, both faculties, as well as representatives of the students.

The scholarship in the amount 6.500 denars is received for a period of 12 months. The names of the scholarship holders will be published in the printed media, and the Executive Office of the Foundation will contact them for signing the scholarship agreements.

In accordance with the programme policies for endorsing young and ambitious cadre who have devoted their careers to the Macedonian healthcare and pharmacy, starting from the academic year 2009/2010, the Foundation “Trajche Mukaetov” has also granted one-off pecuniary awards for the outstanding students of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Faculty at UKIM in the amount of EUR 1,200 paid in the national currency. This year, the one-off pecuniary awards shall be granted to: Aleksandra Zafirovska and Dushko Shalabalija from the Pharmaceutical Faculty, whose average grade was 9.75 and who are already holders of the Foundation “Trajche Mukaetov” scholarship and Nevenka Ridova from the Pharmaceutical Faculty, with average grade of 9.76

Starting from the academic year 2007/08, the Foundation has been awarding scholarships to a total of 418 students in pharmacy and medicine, including the new 39 scholarships in the academic year 2017/2018. Of these, 159 students in pharmacy and 129 in medicine are graduates. If they fulfill the envisaged conditions, the scholarship holders continue their scholarships during the next academic year. From 2009 to the present, 63 students awarded with the Foundation scholarships have started their career in "Alkaloid", in the pharmacy departments.

The "Trajche Mukaetov" Foundation was founded by a decision of the Board of Directors of "Alkaloid AD" Skopje. The Foundation, whose founder is the company itself, aims to award, donate and finance talented doctors and pharmacists, as well as provide financial support for projects in these two areas.

The projects so far, stand as a proof for the achievement of the commitment of the Foundation to support pharmacy, medicine and science, primarily by supporting young, ambitious professionals who have devoted their careers to these activities.

The Foundation was established in honor of Trajche Mukaetov, who became the Head of "Alkaloid AD" Skopje in 1985, and the main feature of his mandate is the intensification of the growth and development of the company in a leading pharmaceutical company in the region. In the context of dedication and permanent development, this great strategist and visionary considered that an important parameter is the increased level of investment in scientific, research and development activities, investments that are necessary for the desired prosperity.
