Trajche Mukaetov Foundation awards 42 new scholarships

Trajche Mukaetov Foundation awards scholarships to students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje for the twelfth year in a row.

This year, 42 new scholarships have been awarded to 22 students at the Faculty of Pharmacy and 20 students at the Faculty of Medicine at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University Skopje.

According to the announced public competition, the selection of scholarship holders for the school year 2019/2020 has been approved by the Board of Directors of the Foundation, following the proposed preliminary list of Scholarship Allocation Committees. The committees consisted of representatives from the Foundation, from both faculties and from students.

In line with program policies to support young and ambitious personnel who have dedicated their careers to Macedonian Health and Pharmacy, starting in the academic year 2009/2010, the Trajche Mukaetov Foundation also awards a one-off monetary prize to the honor students of medical and pharmaceutical faculties at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in the amount of 1,200 euros in denar counter value. This year, one-off prize money has been awarded to: Mario Ignjatovic from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Elif Vrajnko from the Medical Faculty, Stefan Pandilov from the Medical Faculty, Vlatko Karanfilovski from the Medical Faculty – all of them scholarship holders of Trajche Mukaetov Foundation, as well as Nikola Manev from the Medical Faculty. All of the honor students winners this year showed an average success of 10.00.

"It is a great pleasure for me to have exceptionally talented students apply this year, so we have decided to award 42 instead of 40 scholarships to Medical and Pharmacy Faculty at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, thus fulfilling a quota of 500 scholarship students in 12 years. I am really glad that Trajche Mukaetov Foundation and Alkaloid Company have been part of the success story of 374 bachelors in medicine and pharmacy so far. I am also happy with the average success of the honor students shown this year! For the first time this year, the Trajche Mukaetov Foundation has 5 honor students, all averaging 10.00. One of the honor students will start his career at Alkaloid next month and by the end of the year, a total of 81 scholarship students will be part of the company processes. Stimulating and rewarding young talents will hopefully be a motive for delivering even better results and even higher future achievements in the field of Macedonian health and pharmacy, said Zhivko Mukaetov, President of Trajche Mukaetov Foundation and CEO of Alkaloid AD Skopje.

As of the 2007/08 school year, the Foundation has awarded scholarships to a total of 500 pharmacy and medical students, including the new 42 in the 2019/2020 academic year. Of these, 197 students in pharmacy and 177 in medicine are already graduates. If they meet the requirements, the scholarships will be extended to the scholarship holders for the following school year.

Since 2009, 79 of the Foundation's scholarship students, 74 students from the Faculty of Pharmacy and 5 students from the Faculty of Medicine, have started their careers in the Pharmacy segment of Alkaloid. In November 2019 two more scholarship holders will be professionally engaged.

The scholarship amounts to MKD 6,500 over a period of 12 months. The names of the scholarship holders will be published in the print media, and the Foundation's Executive Office will contact them to sign scholarships.

The ninth consecutive humanitarian event organized for the employees of the company was held under the umbrella of the Trajche Mukaetov Foundation in September. The raised amount of 1,255,844.00 denars is donated to the Citizens' Association O2 Initiative to support their efforts to protect and provide a clean and healthy environment.
