US Ambassador Kate Burns pays working visit to “Alkaloid”
A delegation of the United States of America Embassy led by Her Excellency, Ambassador Kate Mary Burns paid a working visit to “Alkaloid” AD Skopje.
During the visit, senior diplomats were briefed on the results of the company's operations, its placements and production operations. The numerous investments that "Alkaloid" has continuously realized over the years were presented, as well as the export activities that are one of the key segments of the corporate policy of the company.
The emphasis of the visit was on the long-term successful cooperation of the company with the United States of America, where "Alkaloid AD" Skopje in 2005 established its subsidiary based in New Albany, Ohio. This business move was preceded by successful business and technical cooperation with reputable companies from the United States, traced more than 5 decades ago. Currently, Alkaloid is a partner in the selection of several reputable American pharmaceutical companies with which it has various forms of cooperation, such as licensing, marketing representation and authorization for distribution of their products.
Of the business ventures in the United States, Alkaloid is particularly proud of the sales of Good Nature teas. In the past 15 years the company has established successful cooperation with American companies specialized in the production and distribution of teas and natural medicinal products, such as the renowned "AVEDA", a member of the "Estee Lauder" group, the companies "Arbon International" and "Swanson" which in 2019 exceeded US exports by $ 5 million, with a growth trend.
Ambassador Burns expressed her satisfaction with the successful operation of Alkaloid and was particularly fascinated by the tour of the company's production facilities, as well as the high level of technological equipment and human capital that manages the processes. In regrads to the human capital, Ambassador Burns was particularly interested in the challenges that the company faces in recruiting new staff, their training, abilities and skills that they need to possess due to the specifics of the industry.
Ms. Burns had the honor to visit the latest expanded production facilities, for the construction and equipment of which the company recently invested over 11 million euros and whose full commissioning is expected in the coming period.
