Zhivko Mukaetov - part of the elite global community of Young Global Leaders
The Chief Executive Officer and President of the Management Board of "Alkaloid", Mr. Zhivko Mukaetov, become part of the elite global community of Young Global Leaders, whose primary objective is to make the world a better place, with joint efforts and commitment.
As the only representative from Macedonia in the Class of 2014, before acquiring the prestigious title of Young Global Leader, Mukaetov underwent an extremely complex and rigorous selection process, which consisted of several stages. The selection committee is chaired by H.M. Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Chief Executive Officer of “The New Champions” within the framework of the World Economic Forum, Mr. David Aikman, extended his warm welcome to the new leaders:
„Young global leaders are not just exceptional leaders in their own right, they are leaders that already have a track record in improving the state of the world. We welcome the members of the Class of 2014 into our community and look forward to collectively engaging them to deliver a change of genuine global significance“, Mr.Aikman stated.
The Forum of Young Global Leaders (FYGL) was established in 2004 by Mr. Klaus Schwab, as an independent foundation in close partnership with the World Economic Forum. Since its establishment to the present day, the Young Global Leaders Community has acquired over 900 members worldwide. Some of the young global leaders with worldwide fame include: Marissa Mayer – Chief Executive Officer of "Yahoo", Larry Page - Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of "Google", Zhou Xun - Actress and Goodwill Ambassador (United Nations Development Programme), Nasoko Yamazaki - Japanese astronaut and mission specialist on the crew of "STS - Discovery".
In addition to Mr.Mukaetov, there is one more member from Macedonia in the Forum of Young Global Leaders, and that is Mr. Fatmir Besimi, who was the Macedonian Minister of Economy when he became a part of this community in 2010.
From the thousands of nominations, only 214 outstanding individuals in their field, who have demonstrated their excellence worldwide, managed to join the community of young global leaders this year. They come from 66 countries, from 7 regions in the world, and 46 of them are from Europe.
Beside Mr.Mukaetov, the highly acclaimed chef of Macedonian origin and of worldwide fame, Mr. René Redzepi, also became a member of the Forum, as an owner and founder of the Danish restaurant "Noma" (which is a two-Michelin-starred restaurant).
