40 new “Trajce Mukaetov” Foundation scholarship holders

As of 5th October 2010 the “Trajce Mukaetov” Foundation granted a total of 40 new scholarships for the academic year 2010/2011 to undergraduate students of the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy at “Sts Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje - 18 scholarships for the students of pharmacy and 22 for students of medicine. Starting from this year, in accordance with its statutory provisions, the “Trajce Mukaetov” Foundation has introduced an award for the best students of the generation at the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Medicine at “Sts Cyril and Methodius” University.

The “Trajce Mukaetov” Foundation was established by a decision taken by the Managing Board of Alkaloid AD Skopje. Alkaloid AD Skopje is the founder of this Foundation, aimed for granting scholarships, sponsorships and financing talented students, doctors and pharmacists, as well as providing donations and funds for projects in the field of medicine and pharmacy.

Compliant to the published public competition, the selection of the scholarship holders for the academic year 2010/2011 was adopted by the Managing Board of the Foundation following the shortlist made by the Scholarship Committees, composed of representatives from the Foundation, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy and the students. The scholarship, in the amount of 6.500 denars, is granted for a period of 12 months. The names of the scholarship holders will be published in the printed media. If the holders meet the criteria, they will continue to be beneficiaries of the same for thee next academic year, too.

Mr Zivko Mukaetov, the President of the Foundation, awarded Anela Tosevska and Andrej Kralev, the best students of the generation at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Medicine, respectively, with a one-off premium in the amount of €1,000 (in denar currency) – the award granted by the “Trajce Mukaetov” Foundation for the first time this year.

Some content hereEver since academic year 2007/2008 the “Trajce Mukaetov” Foundation has had a total of 142 scholarship holders among the students of pharmacy and medicine (including the 40 new ones for the academic year 2010/2011). Thirty-one of the pharmacy students have already graduated.

The Foundation was established in the honour of Trajce Mukaetov, who became Alkaloid’s leader in 1985. As a true man of strategy and vision, he considered the increased level of investments in scientific and research development activities a major parameter for the desired prosperity.

In accordance with the development strategy and the staff requirements, last year Alkaloid AD Skopje employed four of the graduate “Trajce Mukaetov” Foundation scholarship holders. Such company policy is bound to continue in the future, considering the achieved positive results and the market growth.
