In line with the public competition published, the selection of scholarship holders for the 2015/2016 academic year was adopted by the Management Board of the Foundation, following a preliminary shortlist proposed by the Scholarship Distribution Committees. The Committees consist of representatives of the Foundation from both faculties, as well as student representatives.

The scholarship amounts to MKD 6.500 and is granted for a period of 12 months. The names of the scholarship holders will be published in the printed media and the Foundation Executive Office will contact the holders for signing contracts for the scholarship.

Compliant to the program policies on supporting young and ambitious people who dedicated their careers to Macedonian health care and pharmacy, starting from the 2009/2010 academic year, the “Trajche Mukaetov” Foundation also awards a one-off premium to the best students of generations from Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy at Sts. Cyril and Methodius University in the amount of EUR 1.200, expressed in MKD currency. This year the following students will receive the one-off premium: Nadica Sibinovska from the Faculty of Pharmacy, with a grade point average 9.90 and Haris Babacic from the Faculty of Medicine with a grade point average 10.00. This year’s best students have also been scholarship holders at Trajche Mukaetov Foundation.

Ever since 2007/2008, the Foundation provided scholarships for 344 students of pharmacy and medicine in total, including the new 40 students for the 2015/2016 academic year. Of them, 124 students of pharmacy and 92 students of medicine have already graduated. If they meet the criteria prescribed, the scholarships are extended for holders in the following academic year as well. Since 2009 until now 34 of the scholarship students from the Foundation have started their career at Alkaloid in the Pharmacy section.

The “Trajche Mukaetov” Foundation was established by the decision of the Management Board at Alkaloid AD Skopje. The Foundation, whose owner is the company itself, aims at granting scholarships, donations and funds for talented doctors and pharmacists, as well as providing financial support for projects in these two fields.

The projects thus far are a proof of commitment achievement of the Foundation for supporting the pharmacy, medicine and science, and above all for supporting young and ambitious people who dedicated their career to these areas.

The Foundation was established in the honour of Trajche Mukaetov, who came at the head of the company in 1985 and the main merit in his mandate was to intensify the growth and development of the company into becoming a leading pharmaceutical company in the region. In the context of dedication and permanent development, this great man of strategy and vision considered the increased level of investment into scientific, research and development activities to be a significant parameter, investments necessary for the prosperity desired.
