• Vitamin A (in the form of retinyl palmitate) – 500 µg (1667 IU);

• Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) – 10 μg (400 IU).

Action

Vitamin A helps maintain the skin and mucous membrane healthy, it is essential for good vision and the normal function of the immune system.

Vitamin D helps regulate the absorption/use of calcium and phosphorous; it helps maintain healthy bones and normal muscle function. Vitamin D deficiency may cause osteomalacia ( weak bones) in adults and osteoporosis in elderly persons.

Vitamin D acquires hormonal activity when cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) is converted into 1.25 dihydroxyvitamin D3 (calcitriol) in the liver and the kidneys.
