The development of Alkaloid, the role of the capital market, and the opportunities arising from internationalisation, innovation, and emerging technologies were among the key topics discussed in a special conversation with Zhivko Mukaetov, CEO and President of the Management Board of Alkaloid AD Skopje, at the 25th Macedonian Stock Exchange Conference.

Nearly MKD 2.2 million was raised through Alkaloid’s 12th Humanitarian Picnic to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment for the University Clinic for Respiratory Diseases in Children “Kozle”.

“We will continue to live with the challenges of today, but our thinking must reach far beyond them. Alkaloid is built not only for today and tomorrow, but for the many generations to come.” These words, spoken by Trajche Mukaetov in January 1986, embody a vision of responsible governance, shared commitment, and long-term value creation – principles that are now widely recognized as core elements of the ESG concept.

Businesses across the country and the broader region must move beyond “local practices” and operate in line with global rules and standards if they aspire to become competitive and achieve sustained success in global markets. The growth and development trajectory of Alkaloid⁠ reflects decades of continuous investments in manufacturing, research and development, talent, technology, and regional expansion.

The discussions during the working meeting centred on Alkaloid’s long-term strategic priorities, including its strong export orientation, capital investments, education initiatives, implementation of ESG standards, socially responsible projects, and sustainable growth through international market expansion and differentiation.
